OlderWarriors is an independent directory that connects service providers with potential clients. While we facilitate listings, we are not responsible for the actions, agreements, or outcomes of any listed service providers (LSPs). This platform does not guarantee offers, assignments, or job opportunities for LSPs and operates solely as a directory. All listings are created at the discretion of the service providers.

Service Providers Terms of Use:

• 1. Profile & Identity:
  • Profile photo must be of you.
    • You must perform (or directly oversee) all jobs/tasks yourself.
• 2. Payments:
  • All payments must be processed securely through the platform.
  • Do not request or accept direct payments from customers (if using this platform)
  • If working out of this platform, LSP can be paid in any way they wish (but, in this case, we will not provide cover, resolution assistance, or accept customer reviews).
• 3. Equipment & Tools (this applies to LSP working through this platform).
  • If you need specialized equipment, tools, or ladders and don’t own them, you must either:
    • Rent them through the platform, or
    • Include the rental cost in your initial quote.
• 4. Materials:
  • If materials are not in your quote, the customer must buy them separately.
  • Include any assistance with material purchases in your quote.
• 5. Eligibility:
  • Older Warriors implies “actively retired” experts and/or service providers listed on the platform.
  • Important: Non-verified listings will be recognized for “resolution” assistance, or damage cover (only verified and elite profiles qualify).
• 6. Transportation:
  • Include all transportation costs in your quote.
• 7. Pricing:
  • We encourage market related rates in line with professional contractor rates, with a 10% to 20% discount.
  • Lower than standard rates are discouraged.

User Terms of Use

Older Warriors is an online platform connecting Users with Listed Service Providers (LSPs).

Older Warriors Services:

• Older Warriors lists “actively retired” independent service providers, sometimes referred as “taskers”.
• Users can connect with LSPs directly via ‘Private Messaging‘ or through ‘Requests‘.
• ‘Requests’ allow Users to describe their needs and receive messages from interested LSPs.
• Communication is direct (through the platform) between LSPs and Users, who are independent operators.
• Responses to ‘Requests’ are direct communication between the responder and the User.
• Payments are secure online transactions, held in merchant account for safekeeping, until the job is complete.
• Users and LSPs are encouraged to review each other after service completion.

Obligations & Expectations:

• Older Warriors may publish Listings on its platforms.
• LSPs can add, change, or remove their Listings.
• Older Warriors only allows individuals 50+ to be LSPs.
• Older Warriors can refuse or remove LSPs if their conduct is detrimental to the platform.
• Older Warriors is not liable for LSP and User interactions, including service descriptions, performance, or delivery.
• Older Warriors is not responsible for the truth or accuracy of information provided by Users or LSPs, including LSP ability to perform tasks or User ability to pay.
• Unless stated, Older Warriors is not obligated to get involved in disputes between LSPs and Users.

You (as a user) agree that:

• Older Warriors does not fully investigate LSPs before they join, including criminal checks and/or qualification verification.
• Unverified (starter listings) will not be entitled to resolution services, and/or damage cover provided by this platform.
• Users are responsible for background checks, references, licenses, certifications, or insurance verification before hiring an LSP.
• Users are responsible for evaluating and choosing an LSP.
• Users assume all risks and release Older Warriors from any loss, liability, injury, damage, or costs related to the services.
• Users grant Older Warriors permission to use content and information posted on the platform for platform purposes, promotion, and as permitted by this agreement.

User Obligations:

• You agree to:
  • Comply with this agreement and all applicable laws.
  • Post only accurate information.
  • Be aware of laws that apply to you as a User or LSP.
• You agree that Older Warriors content cannot be used on third-party sites or for other business purposes without permission.
• You must not use the platform for illegal or immoral purposes.
• You must control your Older Warriors account and not let others use it.

Your information must be:

• Accurate and up-to-date.
• Not false, misleading, or deceptive.
• Not fraudulent or involve stolen items.
• Not infringing on any third-party rights.
• Not obscene or inappropriate.
• Free of malicious code that could harm the platform.
• The Older Warriors platform may use location-based functionality.

Fees:

• A R25,00 Service Fee (limited warranty cover) is levied (payable by the client) +
• A job completion fee of R75,00 levied ( deducted from service provider) for every successful completion.
• All payments must be made securely via the platform.
• VAT (if applicable) will be charged according to South African tax law.
• Older Warriors can change fees, and changes will be updated on the website.

Payments, Refunds, and Cancellations:

• Fees are not refundable (under no circumstances).
• Funds are held in holding account until the job is satisfactory complete.
• Older Warriors can suspend accounts for repeated cancellations.

Verification & Badges:

• Older Warriors use Identity Verification Services (green tick for Verified and gold star for Elites).
• Older Warriors Identity Verification Services may not be fully accurate.
• Badge 1: Verified LSP (green tick) + Badge 2: Elite (gold star).

Consent to Process Data:

• By using the platform, you consent to the use, processing, and storage of your personal information.
• You allow Older Warriors to provide your personal information to verified third-party service providers.
• Older Warriors may store your personal information during your use of the platform and for 6 months after.

Insurance:

• Older Warriors may assist LSPs in obtaining all-risks insurance (ARI). This is third-party insurance. This is discretionary assistance.
• Older Warriors offers Disputes & Resolution Assistance and covers up to R10,000 for damages, losses and workmanship (based on proven documentation and facts). THIS ONLY APPLIES TO VERIFIED AND ELITE LISTINGS.
• Insurance terms are as per the insurer’s terms and conditions.
• LSPs confirm insurance policies are Third-Party Services.
• Users must make their own inquiries about insurance needs, and LSPs are responsible for having sufficient insurance.
• If a claim is made and Older Warriors’ D&RA responds, Older Warriors may recover any excess or deductible from the LSP (with LSP consent).

Modifications to the Agreement:

• Older Warriors may change this agreement or its policies and will notify LSPs of material changes.

Mediation and Dispute Resolution:

• Older Warriors encourages Users and LSPs to resolve disputes directly.
• Older Warriors may share your information with other parties involved in the dispute.
• You must cooperate with Older Warriors investigations (D&RA). ONLY APPLICABLE TO VERIFIED AND ELITE LISTINGS.
• If Older Warriors provides a Third-Party Dispute Service, either party can request the other to use it if they cannot resolve the dispute.
• Disputes with third-party service providers must follow their dispute resolution process.
• Fees or liabilities by the 3rd party service will be recouped by Older Warriors on a 50/50 basis between the User and the LSP.

Termination:

• Any party can terminate your account and this agreement at any time for any reason.
• If your account is terminated, you cannot create new accounts without Older Warriors’ permission.
